Sen. Ron Wyden says President Donald Trump is “making up his own facts” when he says there was “fake news” about the death of an American citizen in a drone strike in Yemen.
Wyden is the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and said on “Fox News Sunday” that he has been working on a bill to “make sure we are not at a point where we’re in a situation where we have a president of the United States saying that he believes something and is willing to lie to us.”
Wyden said that “if you look at the president’s actions, there was no truth to it.”
WYDEN: And, you know, he says he doesn’t know where he got that information from, but there was information on him and, you see it as a fake news story, he has the power to make it up.
I mean, it’s like the power of a bully.
He is a bully and, again, you can’t make it a fact if you don’t know that he is a big bully.
And that is the problem.
He has the authority to make up facts to his own advantage.
SANDERS: He is not a very good commander in chief, Ron.
He does not know how to lead.
He lacks the temperament.
I think he is going to be a terrible president.
And the fact that he could get away with that is just outrageous.
